I have never experienced this. I am wondering if they just want to get more money out of you for doing two separate procedures?

    I agree...get a second opinion.

    I agree with the others.
You're right, there is no reason to NOT do these two at the same time!

I aggree with the others.. Go to another Vet.. My Vet does double stuff like this all the time.. The baby will heal so much faster & all at the same time.. I think that Banfield is just trying to double charge you..

First time I've ever heard of this. Our vet will do everything that needs to be done when you do have to put the dog asleep for a procedure. The only reason to refuse would be if it was a major and difficult surgery.......but a spay and extraction...I would think this is a money making angle, and I would seek another vet's opinion.

Just to give you guys an update...

I've been in touch with several other owners locally,
have a "recommended" Vet to check out, will tomorrow.
I still can't hardly believe Banfield saying that to me...
Everyone I've talked to is SO down on Banfield...
I doubt very seriously I'll ever go back to them again.
Repeated comments on how they gouge for additional $.
XX brief face-time with a real Vet.
    Just on and on....

Thank all of you for your invaluable replies.

    Have a good Day !

Banfield has a bad rep here too, Sandie. I agree. Get a second and even a THIRD opinion until you find a vet you're comfortable with.

I always thought that vets would rather do two procedures at once, to reduce the pet's exposure to anesthesia. PLEASE keep us posted!

They just want to make more money off of you! It is way MORE stressful to put dogs under continuously for different things!

The only time my GSD was ever put under she was spayed, had a tumor removed, had her teeth cleaned and some removed, and got tattooed. She didn't act stresed or upset at all.
