Nope, no thread on how my girl cat, BORIS, got her name, lol.
When we found her, we thought she was a he, and my brother was going to take her in and keep her. He had a dog, named Rocky, and I thought it was from Rocky and Bullwinkle. So I thought, how perfect to have another cartoon name for this cute little boy kitty, so we named him Boris.
It wasn't until about the "big snip" time that we noticed there wasn't going to be much to snip, lol, and figured out, "OOOPS!!! Boris is a girl!!". By that time the name had stuck, and my brother had also backed out of taking her in. Oh well. I got a great cat out of the deal, with a name that can be a conversation piece, lol. We thought of changing her name to Natasha, the other character in Rocky and Bullwinkle, but it just didn't seem to fit her. Boris fit, lol. So, that's what she's stayed. I do called her Baby Kitty a lot of the time, so she knows that name too. Sometimes I think her attitude comes from being named Boris, and knowing it's a boy's name and a strange one at that! LOL!
