And Karen, Sarah Palin hasnt had any say in our wolf policy for some time now. Nor does Gov Murkowski, who started the program.

    I know, but in 2008:

Sarah Palin, the governor of Alaska and John McCain's vice presidential pick, is an enthusiastic hunter who has proposed legislation and cash incentives to encourage aerial wolf gunning, the controversial practice of shooting wolves from an aircraft.
This has made a permanent black mark on her record, in my mind. I believe she'd do it again if given the chance, and don't trust her any further than I could throw her left-handed. (FYI - I'm a righty.)

The current governor supports aerial hunting of wolves. So it aint just Palin. Its Murkowski, Palin, and Parnell and a whole lot of Alaskans who voted for them.

More wolves equals less moose. Less moose means more hungry Alaskan families.

I remember this now, sorry I didnt at the time you posted. What Palin proposed not only went against state law it went against the will of the people, including those who voted for her (myself included).

The cash bounty was made illegal in AK, I dont remember when or why. I can look into it if you like. FWIW I am against a bounty on any animal hides/carcasses as well.

I dont like federal wild animal protections to begin with, unless the species is in danger of becoming extinct, it should be left to the states to manage their wildlife.
