Rest in peace, old man. I hear there are no fences at the Rainbow Bridge, and when you're done after a good long run, there's always a soft bed a good bone waiting ...

I've Been Frosted
It wasn't just Bandit, they also lost Mac and Ozzy on Sunday. Three in 3 days
Check out Teyha's blog - http://www.tehyathebabydog.blogspot.com/
They must be terribly sad right now.
I am so deeply sorry. RIP, sweet trio.
Thanks everyone...I just noticed all the hits on my blog coming from PetTalk...took me a bit to remember my password here!
Mac & Ozzy killed Bandit on Friday night in an unprovoked, extremely violent predatory attack. Bandit never had a chance. He was dead before we could get across the yard. It was very, very different from a "regular" dog fight. We've had plenty of those over the years. Bandit was one of our original pack. It's very weird to not hear him wooing in the yard.
After consulting with our vet, we had Mac & Ozzy euthanized on Saturday afternoon. Psychologically they were not healthy dogs; we could never trust them again and we had to protect the remaining pack. It was the hardest thing I've ever done, but we gave them the peaceful death they denied Bandit. Despite what they did, we loved Mac & Ozzy for 7 years. They were part of our family and we will miss them.
3 dogs gone in 19 hours....sad doesn't begin to cover it. We've lost six canine friends in the last five months. Sleet & Goldie in October, Founder in late January and now these three. We are shattered.

If you are lucky enough to find a way of life you love, you must find the courage to live it.

Tamara,
I am so very very sorry to read this. What a hard choice you had to make, but you know you made the right one.
God Speed Bandit ....... you were such a beautiful boy - look down on your pack down here and keep you Mum's mind full of happy memories.
Mac and Ozzy - what a lovely pair you were, but deep down you know that your Mum only had one decision she could make, and I hope that you find Phred up at the RB, and he explains to you what you did, and helps you find Bandit to "make nice".
Love to all
Michelle

Oh, how sad. It's tragic that it happened, and we'll never know why. Don;t beat yourself up at all, okay? We hope Bandit didn't suffer long, and by now has forgotten that, and sure he most remembers the love you gave him.
Our hearts go out to you in this sad time for your family. We've missed you here on Pet Talk, and are sorry it is tragedy that brings you back.

Tamara and Stuart - my heart goes out to you. It is so difficult to lose a cherished furkid in any circumstancethis situation has to be numbing for you and for the rest of your babies. No matter what happens they are immensely sensitive to changes and even more so to the feelings of their humans.
My thoughts are with you and I sincerely hope life becomes more settled in the coming days. You all need a break with some level of normality.
Please take care of yourselves and thank you for keeping us up to date. I so enjoy Tehya's blog - please give that babydog a huge hug for me.
Rest in peace Bandit - I am so sorry your passing was so painful and you will be so missed.
Rest in peace Ozzy & Mac - your mom and dad loved you enough to give you peace.
Hugs, Betty
Yours in Whiskers
