Please don't scare the Baby. We can wait awhile for pictures. It is more important that she is able to adjust to being inside. BUT, when she is comfy...well, we do love pictures here!

I have a problem with one cat, Blackie. He is a dsh black cat who is the
oldest kitty (by 1 yr) and the first cat brought inside besides Momma Kitty's
two babies (Redbud & Michael). Blackie was brought inside when they were
both less than a year old. He is the official Uncle to all the younger ones.

Problem is, he will not eat in the same room as Baby Kitty & I've always
fed everyone together, until now. I have been taking his plate into another
room for him and feeding his wet food separate from the others.

Is this a good idea? Or should I hold out & make him come join the others?

Any ideas to help solve this problem?

Well, the feeding problem resolved itself and things are moving alone
very well. BK has found all the fun hidey places & mixs & mingles pretty well
with all the other kitties. She seems to have picked out Joey (my youngest)
as her play buddy & follows him around the most.

I am so glad I brought her inside. I have finished the pictures and
will drop off the camera to get them put on a cd so I should have pictures
    to upload next week.

Well, no pictures of Baby Kitty inside just yet, but here's a few of her
just before I brought her inside.

    Sitting on my car.

She took off like a shot when the flash went off & ended up here. Can you
    see where she is hiding?

The little waif out in the cold snow.

She getting more at ease inside everyday now. I hope to get more pics
as we go along. I'll have to be sneaky.

    She's a lovely fluff ball

So she is adapting to life inside? I'm so glad you got her living the good life.

Oh yeah. The boys have stopped treating her as a stranger now and
she has heat and company at all her meals. I do still have to work on
building trust with me but that's a ongoing thing.

Hello, I just re-read the entire post to refresh my ole memory. GREAT--she is inside your house with the other cats and no longer confined to cage or separate room. YOU DID GOOD!! and Baby did also. She is a very PRETTY girl and I am so glad you had the patience and caring to get her used to your house and other cats. I'll keep checking back for any new info and pics. Kay in NC Sat, Jan 29 2011

Liz, your patience has payed off! It's great she is mingling with the others so easily and getting to know the inside of your house where she is warm and safe. What a sweet girl she is.

It will take a while longer, but she may end up next to you on the sofa.

    Great job!

Baby Kitty is not feeling well. She seems to be all stuffed up and
has not been eating for the last couple of days. She did drink some water
and when she tried to eat, she wound up spitting it back out.

This was always my greatest fear with bringing her inside before she was
more tame & would let me touch her. Maybe I should have left her in the garage
until she trusted me more. I have been so upset all morning just
worrying about her.Maybe being inside stressed her out more than I imagined
it would. She seemed to be doing alright up until a few days ago.

I see strays, that I feed, survive for years outside and they don't seem
to get sick, why her? I hope I didn't do the wrong thing by trying to help
    make her life more comfortable.

Could be a simple URI. Can you get her into a carrier and to the vet?

Prayers that some antibiotics will fix her up soon...maybe a long-term injection so you don't have to pill her.

    Prayers for little Baby.

I hope she will be over this soon and back to good health and appetite.

I am so glad you have rescued her and brought her inside from all that cold and snow. Thank you so much.
