Samantha has had her stitches out and is very happy to be rid of the cone. She is slightly less pleased to still be taking antibiotics, but tomorrow is the last one.

When she was at the vet to have her stitches removed, she had dropped a bit of weight. Probably not surprising as she was quite lethargic for a week after the operation and didn't eat very much at all. They would like to weigh her again in a couple of weeks. In the meantime we will keep an eye on the lump between her shoulder blades, and if it is still there the vet can aspirate it when we go back for the weight check.

Samantha thanks you all for your good wishes. x

I just got the one photo of her with her cone on -

Chances are that Samantha lost weight b/c of wearing the cone. My Yodie would hardly eat while wearing hers b/c she had a hard time maneuvering and b/c she was depressed. As soon as that cone came off, she started eating regularly again and now her weight is back to normal. I wouldn't worry too much about that. Good for her that the nasty mean ol' cone is off, though.
    Blessings,
    Mary

Oh Samantha, isn't it good to get that cone off, and you're last pill is tomorrow - after one more nights sleep. Then you can eat normally again - you definitely deserve some extra treats for going through this!

Oh Samantha, you look so small and poorly with that dreadful cone- it will be wonderful once it comes off. I hope there is still a little German liver sausage for cats available to feed you. And I hope the lump will be gone as well. I remember Orion had a little lump after his rabies shot- I began to be worried but it went away all of its own.

Oh, poor baby, looking so unhappy with the lampshade.. aren't you glad to be done with that?! And after tomorrow, no more nasty things stuck down your throat! We bet your appetite picks up soon.

Oh, Samantha! I am glad to know the cone is gone. Does your mommy know that sometimes heating a bit of wet food to just barely warm can help increase the food intake? Otherwise, tell her you want only your most fave things! Get totally better!

I'm so glad to hear that she's cone free again. Now hopefully her appetite will return so she'll gain her weight back. I know that sometimes the antibiotics will also cause cats to lose their appetites.
