I can take the gentle ribbing about my dog of perfection. It is just so amazing to witness, AND I have no trouble bragging about him- as it is absolutely nothing I did- its all him.

Jasper came to me, along with his two puppies (we presume, as they were similar in looks, actions, strange howling pattern, etc), in April of 2010. I had to drag him from the car into the garage. His two pups were worse, but they were little enough I could pick them up.

He blossomed with us. We are definetely his peeps. He still cowers, shows uncertainty with men sometimes. My mom (Lillycat) who is NOT a dog person, speaks glowingly of Jasper. I just love this dog so much, and Jonah does, too.

I will learn how to post pics somehow. Soon. Where is Kfamr when I need her?

    Cataholic,

Adding Photos is actually pertty easy !
One can put their pictures here in an Album,
or use a Photo Housing site like Photobucket at...
    http://photobucket.com/?link=topmenu
    or
    Image Shack at...
    http://imageshack.us/

Both have very clear instructions on how to use the facilities.

    TRY IT !

    Have a good Day !

Here's that very obedient doggie, Jasper. Isn't he a cutie.

Oh, how cute! Jaspar and Jonah look so happy together. And Jaspar sounds so well behaved. When I go to let all the dogs out into my back yard, all of them race outside except Smokey. He stands there looking at you until you tell him it is okay to go out - then out he goes. He will come back in when the others do but he does not bark to get in. One night shortly after we brought them home, I couldn't find him. He hadn't come in when the others did. When I opened the door, there he was on the step, just waiting to be let in. Now I make sure he is in because he sure won't tell you he wants in!

Both of them are adorable - thanks for sharing with us. And thanks to liz for posting the pictures.

Jasper has the same sort of I really don't want to bother anyone look in his eyes that our cat Duffy has.

You think someone told Smokey to be a very good boy? How about Cinder?

I don't have an answer but thoroughly enjoyed your post! I am just picturing this dog sitting on the patio waiting to be invited in. How adorable! And I am just now seeing his picture before I finish my post!

We had a black Lab named Jasper once and he was a big LOVE but slightly mentally limited.

I hope you figure it out and he learns to use the door. I like to think he is just VERY polite!

Hello, I just read the entire Thread. You sure have a smart well behaved dog and the pics are so cute. To me, he looks like a beagle. I certainly am not an expert but I think when you let him/ invite him out, then he expects you to let him/ invite him back in. He's very smart. Kay in NC, cloudy 45
