Have you tried GIMP? Its free and Im told its pretty powerful.
See if you can purchase an upgrade - that is often less expensive.
These programs are expensive, but they are powerful and for professional use, include lots of proprietary information, can encode Postscript and do just about everything a professional could want - that's why they are expensive. Just because you don't need all the features doesn't mean you get to pay less!

I refuse to spend that kind of money on a computer program so complicated that people take classes to learn how to use it to justify the price they paid.
Here is the newer version of what I'm using for photo editing software, Corel PaintShop Photo Pro X3. So far it can do just about anything my dad's CS5 can do to a picture, costs a heck of alot less, and I didn't have to take any classes to learn how to use it either.![]()
