Toby steals food any chance he can get. In fact I have to put dirty dishes directly in the dishwasher after making dinner or else he'll hop in the sink and lick them as soon as I exit the room. He thinks he's being sneaky when he jumps up in my lap if I'm sitting down eating something. He's funny to watch though. He'll often sit on the other side of Havoc's bowl while Havvy is eating and occasionally stretch out a paw to try to snatch a kibble out.

But there is but one undeniable rule in our house when it comes to food: Floor food is Toby food! If something falls on the floor he's on it before you can even blink. One of the funniest scenes ever was when my boyfriend was cooking sausage patties and somehow dropped one on the floor. It reminded me of a bullfight how my boyfriend was bent over and spinning in circles trying to pick it up with one hand and trying to deflect a very determined Toby with the other. He'd shove Toby across the kitchen floor a few feet (it's tile, no kitty harm done) and Toby would just come charging back as soon as he got his footing again. I probably shold have helped, but I was too busy laughing.

Kiri is a natural born thief. She has not forgotten her street life and will steal whatever she can get to- and boy is she fast!
Orion was so well behaved when Kiri moved in but he begins to learn

I remember an incident with Freckles. I had been out to a dinner of chicken and dumplings at a favorite restaurant. Too much chicken. so I returned home with two pieces of breast meat in a foam plastic container. Put it on the kitchen counter, intending to put it in the fridge after I hung my coat up in the closet. I forgot, went on to another task, then later to bed.

Guess what I found in the morning?

    Empty container on the floor.

Smudge is very well-mannered. He doesn't steal, or ever jump on the counter (even for a mouse!) But he begs. He always knows when I've got cheese, and s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-s his l-o-o-o-o-n-g body up (he can reach the edge of the counter) and trills hungrily, and he always gets a tiny crumb of cheese in his bowl. With his penchant for imitating human speech, a couple of times his "Thank you!" was almost intelligible in English!

My duck will take food right out of your mouth if not carefull! Once I was eating roman noodles right next to my house duck (who's name is Lucky by the way.) and took the noodles right out of my mouth! He will also try and take cheese. I used to have a cat named trouble, she used to take her claws and snatch my food!

  8. Kirby did once but i caught him in the act the second time an he was so guilty that he slinked off an got his crate on his own. from than ive purposely set food out on my desk to see if i can catch him in the act again but so far he hasnt attempted it thankfully

Emily will and not feel guilty. I think she survived in her former place by eating garbage, human food thrown away. So she loves taking my meat and veggies off the plate.

Emily actually managed to removed a chicken tender from a sealed box through the bottom without tearing up the box. If I hadn't found her on the floor eating the chicken, I would never had known she had raided my dinner.
