What Kfamr said. My RB Binx used to get Giardia...and the vet told me it also happens in a weaker immune system. I was pretty sure it was from puddles and stuff in the yard. It really wasn't a big deal, other than the clean up part.

    Get better Snoopy.

You would never know he is sick. His potty is getting better which they said would happen pretty quickly once he was on the medication.

Lizbud: I crate trained Coco from a puppy (6 weeks) and he LOVES his crate. I think Snoopy has had some issues it didnt help he spent 2 months at the shelter.

YAY YAY YAY!! I'm glad he is getting better!

The shelter from which I adopted Cassie is no-cage. One of the cats on her floor was diagnosed with giardiasis the day I brought her home. I got a call the next day that I might have to start her on Flagyl. At that point she was still under the sofa and I was still worried that she'd never come out. Luckily she did not have giardiasis.

I'm sorry to hear that he's sick but I'm so glad to hear that he's already much better. I was told that both Alani & Blaze and their other two siblings all had giardia when they were brought to the rescue group. They were found near the coast with their mother and they were all strays. They said the water was bad there so this most likely caused the giardia. Unfortunately no one was able to catch their mother or one of their siblings so they're still out there some where.
