Well hello there darling Olive! Happy Cat of the Day and Halloween to you, sweet boy! Oh, you don't scare me with those vampire fangs, but you sure do look adorable, and yes, with those toofies and shiny, beautiful, black coat, all set for your big day; no costume needed! I'm so very happy knowing that one most deserving, extra special kitty found his way to such a caring and loving home, to two such doting and caring purrents! What a wonderful life you have been blessed with, and just as you say Olive, your family just as lucky and blessed to have found YOU!!!

I loved reading your write-up, Olive; you're such a lover boy, have such a joyful and playful personality, though I'm beginning to think my boy Oliver just may be the only kitty on the planet who doesn't obsess over straws!

You know, with your snoring and licking, I can't help but wonder whether you've got a curse on you - the curse of allergies. Can you convince your humans to try letting you sink those magnificent pointy teeth into some grain-free food for a while, and see if things get a little easier for you? Or maybe ask the, erm, Mad Scientist to help figure out what's prompting your immune system to take up pitchforks and torches?

Hi Olive - You have the funniest little Halloween smile around. I am so happy your parents rescued you and bravo to Chicago for having an anti cruelty shelter (Oprah mentioned recently that Chicago is trying to save many more animals just like in Fort Worth, Texas).

Your mom and dad might want to look into the ingredients in your food - that could be what is causing your allergies (often the chicken by-products - yucky things like beaks and feet that should be disposed of - can cause this licking, or if your cat goes outside (hopefully not, for security and health reasons) but sometimes people still use pesticides that can cause this reaction also.

Oh, Olive Kitty! You are as shiny and dark as black olives You are also the perfect cat for our Halloween Cat of the Day with your white vampire fangs A black cape would complete your costume and you could scare away everyone! I'm so glad your Mom and Dad rescued you and fattened you up a bit!

Cats and straws! Yes, some of my kitties like to play with straws, too. They pick them up and run away with them, crying like they have a prize mouse. It's too cute. I'll bet your Mom and Dad find them everywhere. If you run out, ask them to check under the refrigerator...that's where a lot of ours end up! What's up with the lazy Susan? Maybe you really want to hop on and go for a spin?

You've got such beautiful shiny fur, so why do you lick it away? I have a kitty who licks his belly until it's just pink skin. I don't know why he does that, but once it grows back a bit, he starts all over again. Maybe you guys need to talk
