What a pretty sweet little girl you have! I dont know if this will be helpful to you but I'll post it. When I got my puppy LilGirl two years ago, I put her in a cage at night & she cried alllll night & I felt terrible. No, she did not poop in cage. She's always been good about going out when I take her plus she was mostly trained when I got her.
Anyway the second night when I put her in cage she cried & cried & I let her out & she came to my bedroom where I was... found some of my dirty clothes on the floor next to my bed & she made her bed there. She was so sweet. I then took her little round bed from the cage and put it on top of my dirty clothes & she was satisfied... and she has been sleeping in that spot ever since (not on the same clothes though LOL). She was just so lonely but being near me, even on the floor, was ok with her.
Heidi really is a cute little dog & I enjoy looking at your photos.

Heidi Saturday morning snoozing with the monkey,Heidi resting with her toys,flipped over by her bed,resting at my feet,still snoozing and snoozing by her bed this morning.She had her play with me this morning,had her food and water,brings food out of the dish and into the living room.She had a morning snooze,went to her cage when we went to church.She now knows to go to the mat in front of the sink to ask for water,at night,I give her water out of my bottle.She has had a tug of war with mom with the rope toy,don't know how many times she has asked to go out,most for real,last two times,she wanted right back in.Marlene came through the operation fine,didn't have to take any piece of bowel out.Has several internal hernias,this may be an ongoing thing with the hernias.I saw her after dinner last night,looked pretty good,may be there til the end of the week,will be watching Taffy again,mom works tomorrow on the municipal election,from 10 until 8,has to be there for 9 to set up.

Heidi and Mom playing Tug Of War last night,having a rest after a play this morning,flipped over beside the bed,Heidi playing in her bed,Heidi trying to get to Taffy on the couch,it was fun watching Heidi try to get up to Taffy.Heidi chased her down the hall into Mom's bedroom,followed her into mine,then followed her as far as the sliding door in the kitchen where Taffy went down and spent most of the day.This is what Fritz used to do with Taffy chase her all the time,he did that the first time they met on August 11, 2002.Heidi has done good in going out,more times outside than in.The odd time,takes food from the dish and eats in on the carpet.Heidi had a little play down here with her toys,now sleeping next to me,I brought her down in her bed tonight.Marlene doing pretty well,had all the tubes taken out,still has a intravenous in.Mom still working ,will be now counting votes in the poll she was working out,maybe between 9 and 10 before she is home.
Heidi in her bed down here last night,playing with the Monkey this morning,playing with stuffies,resting beside my chair this afternoon,tongue hanging out and in her bed upstairs this afternoon.She had a play with me after breakfast,cuddled with Mom,Taffy came,she follows her around,tail going, down to mom's room then mine and to the sliding door of the kitchen,Taffy then goes downstairs where spent most of the day.Down here,Heidi was trying to get on the couch with Taffy to kiss her I guess,Taffy would have just got down and run from Heidi.She had a tug of war with mom with the rope toy,has been out in the rain,she doesn't mind it.Marlene has had clamps out from the surgery,also tubes and intravenous,had the inner hernias fixed too,maybe coming home maybe by Friday or Saturday.Heidi now having a snooze under the end table.
Heidi in her bed again this afternoon,flipped over up here today,resting beside me with tongue hanging out again and in the hallway watching Taffy in Mom's bedroom,had a great time doing that today.
