For me, karma isn't that much different from the biblical teaching of sowing and reaping, ie., you reap what you sow either in this life or the next.

"Time and unforeseen occurrence befall us all." Ecclesiastes 9:11
I can't explain bad things happening to good people. I sometimes think it's a lesson for the rest of us. How many times have we seen good people persever with BAD lots? They are always the ones that inspire us and sometimes I think it makes them better souls than us. Animal world as well. How many times do we see an animal tortured or abused and they are as kind and sweet as the day they were born. Doesn't that teach the rest of us to carry on? I think it's a lesson for the rest of us. While I don't think we arent' given more than we can handle (recent suicides of young people example) I do think it teaches a greater leasson to those left behind. Tolerance, compassion, love, connectedness. All positive.
I believe in this Karma! Who could ever deny it?![]()
I've Been Frosted
I absolutely DO believe in Karma.
Cases in Point: My ex-husband's wife made my life a living hell for 15 years while my daughter was living with them. She's now in a wheelchair with MS.
My "can't really call her a true friend" Pam and I were very close. Then I fell on her slate outside steps and broke my foot in 2 places. I sued the landlord, who happened to be her boyfriend's mother, for medical bills. End of friendship for over 10 years. She, her (now husband) boyfriend, and her daughter all lied under oath at the deposition.
10 years later she called me and made amends. I forgive, but I don't forget.
She's in a lousy marriage. She lives in her condo with her husbands adult daughter (who pays $50/month when she feels like it), he lives in his (now dead) mother's home with his other daughter littered in filth. Pam's health isn't the greatest and she's on alot of meds.
Do I believe in Karma? You bet I do!!!

It's also my belief that karma refers to the good as well as the bad. Do good and you'll get good back; that sowing and reaping thing again. I never forget a kindness and when the time is right, I will repay it in kind. That's also been my experience w/others who have repaid a kindness that I've extended and I received it when I least expected it and needed it most.
Blessings,
Mary

I don't believe how Nicole is explaining it as Karma... the kids getting abused and all that. To me that is NOT karma. That's horrible things happening to innocent people. I believe that in the end who ever committed those atrocious acts will get what is coming to them, one way or another, however.
To me karma is exactly what Mary said, you reap what you sow. I try to be a good person, because I don't want Karma coming up and biting me in my butt, lol.
I think I do. I see karma as the phrase "you reap what you sew" mean pretty much the same thing. What I do know, is a person who should have some not so pleasant karma coming their way... I hope.

I don't believe in karma as much as I do that you will pay for what you do to others good or bad either in this life or the next. Remember it doesn't say you ONLY get what you reap or sow. Sometimes we get hit with other peoples crap.![]()

WHERE YOU ARE IS WHERE YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE!!!

I believe in what the Bible teaches on the subject:
"Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a
man sows, this he will also reap. For the oneSpirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.” Galatians 6:7-8
who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh
reap corruption, but the one who sows to the
To me this means being good and honest even when people aren't watching. I have done some mean things and I know I personally felt more guilty when I did things that no one found out about as opposed to when I got caught. Getting caught meant part of the punishment was over! When no one but you knows of a wrong deed, the pressure of waiting for the axe to fall is overwhelming. I really think that people fall ill due to this kind of guilt.
I don't know why bad things happen to good people. I like to believe that even suffering has a purpose, even if we as human beings can't understand what that is.
