    Sweet Squints!

What a story! I'm glad that you are well from that awful urinary blockage (Whiskers here had the same problem in early 2009; he only had to stay one night, but was on meds for 4 days)...
I was expecting more pics of you, Squints, but there is only one
Well, enjoy your COTD status, and enjoy life!

Hi there Squints! A very happy, heartfelt Cat of the Day to you, precious boy! Oh, what a precious, fabulous feline you are, sweetheart! And I agree with Medusa, your "crossed eyes" only adds to your irresistible charms!!! I'm sorry to hear of your eye issues, but there's no doubt it hasn't kept you from living and loving life to its fullest! What a brave boy you were Squint, dealing with your urinary blockage with such courage (though having "been there," no doubt your hospitalization was just as hard on your Mommy and Daddy)! our indomitable spirit (well, you ARE a feline, hehe) is truly an inspiration to us all, Squints!!! Your Mommy knew you were the one for her in record time, the moment she laid eyes on you, and the rest as they say, is history! Not only is your Mommy, your humans, so blessed to have a furkid and best bud in you, but Harley too...what an awesome mentor and best buddy to her you are! You're the BEST! Congratulations and bunches of cuddles and kisses and love to you, sweet Squints! I hope you and Harley are both enjoying a very happy, fun and love filled day!!! Here's to many, many more wonderful years with your awesome family!

    Urinary blockage

Hi there - Bless you for picking Squints and for giving him the care who needed when he wasn't well this year. My cat Shadow had that problem also and I have to admit I had to do a lot of research on my own to figure out how to avoid this problem and found out it was all about food and litter. Once I had put Shadow on a good canned food (very little dry from now on) and I never use clumping litter with sodium bentonite (I hadn't anyway) - he has not had this problem for 4 years now. I went through two vets and I have to say that I was happy for their assistance but when it comes to food and litter they really don't seem to have our pets best interests at heart - at least not in Canada where I live. The food they sell have horrible ingredients (by-products mostly - meaning the stuff that should be in the garbage because it's not safe for humans to eat - well to me then I wouldn't feed it to my beloved kitties either!). I hope your Squints never has to face this problem (or you) again.
Please have your pets sterilized as soon as possible to lower, and one day hopefully eliminate, unwanted and abandoned pets. It IS our responsibility. Adopting from a shelter also helps - encouraging breeders just adds to the overpopulation.
