Pig Dog.

If I may be so stupid to ask - what is a pig dog??? Obviously they specialize in hunting pigs, but what do they look like?

Did your neighbor's dog survive the attack? Poor dog!!!

Are they maybe hounds? I know of outfitters that use hounds to tree big cats in trees out West. We use to have hog dogs when we had pigs on the farm. They were herding dogs that would help round up the hogs if they got out into the fields or helped us load the butcher hogs. The barking & herding them into the trailer was a must. Boar pigs have terrible husks & can slice you open in no time. We had a boar pig that would come after us he was real territorial with his ladies & we ended up selling him. I hope the dog will be all right & doesn't get infection. Hopefully you neighbor took him to the veterinary.

How so Sad & in the same Disgusting.. Yes they are most of the time some type of Hound Dog.. A pig dog can be really of any breed & then they are taught from a young age to hunt the wild hogs..

You have wild hog hunting down their in Texas? The hogs can do a lot of damage & will eat humans if they get them down. When the hog market prices were down, farmers were letting their hogs go to fend on their own & they multiplied in the wild. Hogs can have up to 17 young at a time if they are flushed (been on a good diet) & generally have 12 table settings to raise their young.

Yes on my River Front Farm Property I have lots of Wild Hogs.. However I also Have Hunters that Shoot them.. I do not under no condition allow Dogs used to hunt them.. If I catch any of my Hunters using Dogs & Not Guns then they will have charges filed on them..

i was watching some show just yesterday where they were culling wild pigs in Australia. There was a dog involved but he was outfited with a heavily padded chest and neck guard to protect from tusks and hooves.
