Poor Scooter. I hope they get you feeling better very soon!
Is your vet very familiar with feline heartworm disease? From what I understand testing for it isn't as simple as in a dog, and the symptoms often are very similar to athsma/bronchitis in cats and a vet that's very familiar with the disease in cats can sometimes find a tell tale sign in the x-rays.
