My hometown was bustling at one time; it was a steel town but now it's a ghost town. What I like about the town where I now reside:

It has that small town feel; the old ice cream store is still in business and so is the toy store.
It's right on the Ohio and Erie Canal so it's rich in history.
It's a relatively safe place; low crime rate.
It's where I met my mentor and late good friend, Helen and her late husband, George.
It's where I bought my first home, that is, my own home w/o anyone else.
Canal Fulton is called Tree City for a reason.

Thank you for starting this thread. It's nice to be reminded that we need to bloom where we're planted instead of complaining about our circumstances.
