I am speechless at the brutalality of this crime.
I certainly hope that this is prosectued to the fullest extent of the law. ALL of the young punks and their parents.
My heart breaks if this happened to JonnyWalker it could happen to anyone of us and our precious pets.
I am unable to financially help at this time either but will certainly keep JW and all the families in my thoughts and prayers.
But if it seems the sheriff's office has let this be swept under the rug at anytime, please let me know, I can certainly add my voice to that.
Laura - Please give JW a gentle kiss from me. I know you will represent us well, Thank you for doing what several of us would love to do but can't.

I do believe they have raised all of the money needed for the down payment of $2500!!!
I happen to know this because my friend (as I stated earlier, the one who has the cat, G, that I watched) donated the remaining amount when she got through tonight. She is awesome!!!
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

That would be great, I'll call them tomorrow morning and confirm if I can get through! And of course, they will still have to pay the rest of the bill, but hopefully this will mean the surgery can get underway.

Right, but we got the down payment out of the way. So any more donations that come in will go toward the remaining amount.

WOW! This is absolutely the most amazing thing In the WORLD!!! I am making the card to take tomorrow with the comments of good wishes, thoughts and prayers I have collected here in this thread.. Whoever this person is, do you think she would mind if I just added her as Anonymous Angel? She deserves a place on that card after a donation like that!

To everyone else, I have went through this entire thread and written down your comments of prayers, thoughts, well wishes, love ect and put your screen name here under the brief comment and as Karen suggested your location so they can see how far this has went so far. I still want to add several comments that have been posted since I wrote them all down and add this wonderful anonymous angel if Taz gives the go ahead.. Then I can finish it up and hopefully post it for everyone to see..Print it out and have it ready to go in the morning..

I SO want to meet JW tomorrow but if he is in surgery, I will not complain one bit... I will be happy for him to be getting the care he needs, maybe I will get to meet him some other time.

Cindy - I am totally blown away by the generosity of your friend Brandi. I wish I knew where in Delaware she lives - I would personally visit her and give her the biggest hug anyone could imagine. What a wonderful person she is to do this.

Laura - your part in this is amazing also - to take time out to go see Jonny - or at least go to the clinic to deliver all the well wishes in person. Amazing!

I don't believe that I've ever seen such a response as this, in the time that I have been a PT member. I am so proud to be part of this community of wonderful, caring and compassionate people. As promised, I will also make a donation when I receive my August check.

We're all pulling for you Jonny. Get better soon, and know that people from all over the world are in your corner and praying for a full recovery. Gentle {{{hugs}}} from the crew here in Delaware.........

I havn't read through all the pages yet but I hope that little b*stard gets whats coming.
I will cross post this through fb since I have a lot of rescue friends .

Who is going to take Johnny after?
Surely he will need to stay somewhere to get better and if he's got beaten before I would want to see him being safe somewhere.

I know the thread is long, but I am so glad Jonny is doing well, and thanks, buttercup - the more people who hear about this, the better!

Yes, the perpetrators have been charged, and the justice system will hopefully prevail. And yup, Jonny will be an inside doggy - maybe alternating between his three families!

buttercup Jonny has a "Big Family" he was adopted by the 3 families that was feeding him before this happened. Jonny is going to be an inside member of our Families. He will be taken care of by the Mulvey's, The Vogel's, and the Sibley's.

Sort of a shared "custody" sort of thing then. He should have a lot of
people directly caring for him while he heals. That's good. It should make
it cheaper to pay for his reguar needs too, like food, flea, heartworm meds,
and any thing else that comes up. JW is a lucky boy.

    Tuesday update

Johnny's surgeries today went fine. He had two teeth pulled and now he can close his mouth more. He was also neutered at the same time, under the same anesthesia. Dr Anemone Andronescu along with Dr. Kergosien did the surgery.
I spoke with both of them today.
I also met with Dr. Arceneaux this am when he arrived about the heartworm treatment. He volunteered his consult to the case.
He stated that the plan is to continue with the Heartgard medication.
There is an injectable medication that is given for heartworms however the way it was explained to me is as follows:

Heartgard will prevent new larvae heartworms from forming.
This treatment will continue over the next three months.
The injectable medication will be given in three months because the injectable medication kills off adult heartworm larvae. The three month period will allow any young larvae that are existing now to mature so that when the injectable medication is given, it will kill all larvae. (Basically this gives the young larvae time to mature so that the injectable medication works on all that are present). The Heartgard prevents new (young) larvae from forming.
Then a test is done to check for any remaining parasites.

He will have some activity restrictions when the injectable medication is given and he will be able to have this done either with us or at a general practice clinic.

I believe Dr. Arceneaux also ordered an additional lab test today regarding the heart worm testing.

Now remember, I am not a veterinarian so I am transposing the information that was explained to me this am by Dr Arceneaux.

Johnny had a bath too. He is eating and drinking and sleeping on his back.

The plan is to discharge him this Thursday, July 29th at 12:00 noon. This will give him one more day to be monitored post surgery that was done today.

I left a message for Science Diet today. I received a return call but I was in a meeting when they called back. Will call them again on Wednesday.

No donations received today via calls or mail. Total collected remains at $4005 as it was yesterday. I will get with our accounting manager on Wednesday afternoon for a review of all charges to be sure everything is entered. (Some times the charges are entered the day following the procedures).

Everything is going as planned. Will update again on WEdnesday pm.

Our doctor who uploads the pictures taken in the clinic to facebook and to email addresses was off today so I could not send any pictures today. She should be present on WEdnesday. I will get with her then.

    Trish
