You're right, with the interest rates as pathetic as they are right now, some people might be better off letting the government hold it. Back when I was first married in the 80's, interest rates were astronomical, so my husband and I decided to adjust our withholdings so we could make some money off of our money. (I'm a Cancerian, too, and we are noted for our deep love of money and our frugality ) I've always had the discipline to save money, fortunately. I do agree though, that for people who just can't let money stay in their pockets, that getting that big refund is probably a better idea. It's too funny when I look at my checking account statement and see that I've earned 21 cents in interest this month - WOW!!! I'd probably be better off taking my money to the race track each month..........
