A friend almost fell for the "traveling in London" email the other day, so I wanted to bump this up for people. An especially if you have older friends or parents who do not use their email as much, tell them about this, just in case.

Thanks for the heads up, Karen. A few months ago I got a phone call saying we won a trip to Florida. At one point the caller asked for my credit card number to secure our trip which I refused to give. After the call, I checked out the travel agency that called. It was definitely a scam with many many complaints. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I hope you won't mind if I take this opportunity to remind everyone to check these offers and supposed winnings out before giving them any personal information.

My neighbors mother was a victim of one of these scams. Grandma was 89 at the time and someone called and said that her grandson had been in a minor fendor bender out of state and now was in the hospital with a broken leg and needed money to have his car fixed.
Could they meet her at her bank to withdraw some money. She agreeded and luckly my neighbor her son was coming to visit just as she was ready to leave.
How horrible to pry on the elderly. Just about every grandma has a grandson. These people need their fingers broken, their toe nails ripped out and their voice box removed.
