Probably nothing. They apparently believe women, being the sinful
creatures that they are, are the cause of all evil. They like to keep them
separate, covered up head to toe, so they don't entice these "holy men"
    into sinful conduct.

This. IIRC it is accually acceptable to gang rape a woman in Isamic culture if she is dressed in a "sinful" manner.

A friend of mine converted to Islam in his late 20s and lately keeps "liking" Real Men Respect Women on facebook. To me the entire Islamic religion, maybe its just the Islamist culture, disrespects women.

What boggles my mind, is why is our President, a man more hen pecked then Clinton, acting like an apologist for Islam. He bows and kisses their hands. He ignores and insults our ally Isreal, and he is silent when it comes to the stoning of women.

Shrub wasnt much better by not allowing our female military personnel to drive while serving in Islamic countries.

Another thing thats bugged me for awhile...

Where are the womens rights groups when it comes to Islam?

Don't know where that came from. In the beginning of DS that may have been true in spots, but that was quickly cleared up, as well as female soldiers being able to wear just t-shirts.

It's okay to attack Christians, but other groups are verboten. After all, you can't speak ill of a minority group.

And when, exactly , have I ever stated that in this forum?

You were speaking strictly of burkas and other dress issues, not treatment of women as a group.

Taking issue with their dress hardly rises to the level of attacking them on their womens' rights record.

Right where they always are on these issues, working to end this type
    of treatment of women.

Some men in America use, the same logic by using the "she was
    asking for it" defense.

    The question is simple:

Where is the NOW equivalent of the Dutch cartoon commentary about Islam, or are they too afraid of being the target of a very real threat as opposed to being worried about being told to shut up politically?
