How droll! The regressives are now blaming the oil disaster on not enough government!!!! I love it!

And the White House groundkeepers are morons????

A read of the interview in Rolling Stone is incredible. So many reasons this guy must go. Overwhelming arrogance, insulting our allies, a totally overblown sense of his own importance and intelligence, disrespect for his position and the system that employs him and....how stupid could he get....Rolling Stone - what Huffington Post wouldn't talk to him???

Did he self-destroy? Is he really that convinced of his own cleverness? The question of why he did the interview...why he chose Rolling Stone...why he thought he could get away with such disrespect and disregard for the responsibilities of his position are far more interesting questions.

There is no such thing as coincidence. Gen. McChrystal, I think, did this on purpose. He is 'falling on his sword' so to speak. It can't be an accident that he said these thing to Rolling Stone.

I read about super tight RoE over there now. I know from first hand experience what happens when stupid strict RoE is in effect. Body bags get filled and soldier morale plumments. WTF is the point of carrying your weapon if you cannot use it to do your job?

It's what happens when book 'smart' wanna be professors get the keys to the military.

'Regressives'.... How cute that you belive that. What of the modern 'Progressive' agenda is a new idea? I seem to be able to find (failed) examples of the policies being pushed in examples of recent and not so recent, history. Hmmmm....

The worst thing to have happen to you is to work for a pinhead.

The second worst thing to have happen to you is to work for a pinhead that thinks they have all the answers.

Sometimes falling on a sword is the only option.

That shows you willingness to make a stand.

I do realize that you have to "respect the post, not the man", it's the pinhead option that scares me.

" Loose lips sink ships",they also sink Generals. If McC. coudn't get a plan
that he designed to work, than he should resign. He has shown the world that
he was a frustrated, undisiplined, loose canon & not fit to command.

Are you talking about the Navy?

If he was a loose cannon, he'd would have come out to the ranks of the arty boys.

McC is bound by the "rules of engagement" -no I'm not talking about a prenup..

I read that many of the troops were disgruntled that they were not allowed to "carry out the mission" they were tasked to do.

    Like Col. Jessop said?

We sleep pretty darn good because we have guys like him on the wire.

    Handle the truth?

LOL, I don't think any Illinois politico would know the truth if it came out of the woodwork and bit them on the earlobe.

The worst thing about strict RoE is it causes hesitation. Soldiers often have to take an extra second or two when seconds mean life or death. Combat happens fast. You are quick or you are dead and the 2nd place guy goes home crippled or in a body bag.

Either we fight to WIN or we should go home. War is a ugly, dirty business. You don't win wars by playing nice. Our soldiers are among the very best in the world. We should be able to trust them to do the right thing. Because 999,999 times out of 1,000,000 they do.

Amen Liz! McC is the same guy involved in the coverup of Pat Tillman's death. Not a guy I would trust to behave in an honorable manner. He couldn't succeed with his plan so he puts Obama in a position that he has to relieve him of duty. Then he can say....if only Obama hadn't taken him out he would have been...etc...etc. Pass the blame.

After all...nothing is a coincident, right?

If that is the reason, which indeed it is a possibility... He should have a promising political career. LOL

Whatever the reason he had to go. It will be interesting to see how an at-heart warrior runs things... Or is allowed to run things. Will he be allowed to modify the RoE to something that will give the troops confidence they can do their job?

    Truth. Nothing is a coincedence.
