    The correspondents' association said it was going to hold a special meeting Thursday to review Thomas' permanently assigned front row seat in the White House briefing room -- as the controversy "does revive the issue of whether it is appropriate for an opinion columnist."

    Shouldn't that discussion have taken place WHILE SHE WAS IN THE CHAIR?

    They would have had to "work around the occupant" then.

    Now they can pencil in some kind of party, potluck maybe? And discuss the next journalist for the spot.

    I say put in a person with a Jewish nickname. Just to show some kind of solidarity?
