Giant sinkhole in Guatemala

I saw that and at first thought it must have been photo shopped. It
looks so unreal.

The way humans have messed up this planet
I should be used to seeing weird things like this.

Apparently it end in an underground tunnel system for the sewer system and storm runoff, and a sinkhole appeared in the same area in 2007. Thankfully it was on a weekend, and the building was empty.

that´s one SCARY hole!!!.. gladly no one was inside or near.. who know where they´d end up.. *shivers*..

When winter hits we complain of the freezing cold, when summer comes we complain of the heat, how in the world would we cope with something like this I wonder? At least no one was hurt.

We had a sink hole open in our pasture after 5 inches of rain in our area years ago. One of our cows fell into the hole. She had broken her neck so her life ended quickly. My husband almost ran out utility vehicle into the hole, there was brush around the hole so it was hard to see until you were right onto it. With the sink holes around here we cover them back up & divert the water flow into another direction. Under the clay ground around here there are limestone formations with cracks in them & caves under the formations. When it rains sometimes the cracks open up & the clay ground caves in forming a sink hole.
