Update on mini-6/1/10

Prayers for Mini, that her paw can be fixed up and she will be comfy. Bless you, Donna. If she has any convalescence time, that might help her bond with you more...you will be the bearer of food, treats and Love.

I called my vet this morning at 7:30 and she has an appt for 9:30 today. I'll let you know what happens when I get back.

It's a good thing my vet allows me to make payments or I would be royally screwed.

Me too, Gayle. When I was trying to catch her to get her into the carrier, it was awful. I had to pry her with a plastic coat hanger to get her out from under my bed. I hope I didn't do more harm than good. She put up a real struggle. I would never do anything purposely to hurt that beautiful little girl. She's been through so much in these past couple of weeks. LES. I can't help it.

I opted not to have bloodwork done. He's going to put her in a "chamber" to sedate her and then he's doing an x-ray and a complete physical and call me with what my options are. It does not look good.

I will never ever take in another stray cat. PERIOD. No exceptions.

I HATE those people who did this to her.

Oh Donna, I can just imagine the scene. My heart breaks for you both. That poor girl. Fingers crossed that the vet can help her out. Will be checking back for an update.

More prayers for Mini and for you. If all works out physically, maybe there is a mild sedative that could be applied as a patch, or a gel in her ear.

Maybe the vet or techs will know of a suitable home for her.

I know you are very upset right now, and believe me I am too, I had no idea Mini had a bad paw at all.

Also, I just wanted to clarify she is not a stray cat, she was when she was super tiny when she was rescued by these people who took her in and took care of her. Yes I know they were not the ideal couple by not noticing that Mini was hurt. I feel terrible because I nevered noticed that or I would of told John or told you. She lived inside from the time that she was found outside when she was little.

I don't know if these people hurt her paw, it could of been her jumping and just old age I don't know. I'm so sorry that you feel this way that you will never take in another stray cat, I'm very sorry. Please PM me and I will send you what I can for her vet bill since I'm the one that posted about her.

I don't want you to send me any money towards the bill, as you've got enough of your own problems.

I also didn't mean to insinuate that Mini was a stray. I just meant that I am not taking any more cats in, PERIOD. The past 7 months have been hell for my depression with all these cats dying and having to be euthanized. I need a break.

I'm SURE she was abused by the wife. You have no idea how angry and hurt I am right now. I want SOOO badly to call this biatch and give her a piece of my mind. Mini didn't deserve to live like she had been living.

The blood work came back ok. She had very bad arthritis in both legs, crepidus (two bones rubbing together) and a double fracture in her front right leg that healed badly.

There were only two options. Try and place her in a home with no other animals (while in pain and growling and lunging at people) or have her go to the RB. I discussed it with my vet who said it would be literally impossible given her history with other cats. I decided on the latter.

I'm sorry but I did what was right by Mini. She's not in pain anymore and I hope she can forgive me. If anyone has a problem with it, keep to yourself. I don't want to effing hear it.
