I have not been following any of the FC program/cooking programs for a while, so I tuned in to the Barefoot Contessa today for backgroung noise.

    LOLOLOL,

"Does anyone want a piece of Salmon Quiche, it's got a pastry crust with fresh sage and pepper I ground myself!"

She always serves with a rather extruded commentary about what is in the dish.

    Check it out.

    -------------

    Top Chef Masters.

They were down to the final 8 chefs. I am starting to like Gael Greene and her hats....

    Um......the chefs?

I like Jody Adams, Susur I cannot stand.

Susan Feniger creeps me out. When the FC first came out I would watch it with the GF. Her program, Two Hot Tamales was a laugh riot.

Her outfits are really bizarre and remind me of the horrible clowns that would show up in the pediatric units and scare the crap out of the kids.

    Art Smith, Oprah's chef?

He seem's like he's shell shocked and I wondered if working for the Queen of all Media may have imprinted her perfection on him?

It seems like he's always freaking out about what he cooks-like a scolded puppy!

    ---------

    That said?

TV chefs are becoming the rock stars of food, but the newer, younger group seem to be way to enamoured of they way they look, not cook....

Getting off the butcher block now..

I will try the quiche. Sounds yummy.

I watched Ina Garten yesterday too. Have you ever noticed that she entertains a LOT of men when her husband is not around. What is up with that?

Anyway, the show started out with her making breakfast for her husband, then off he went for a trip. Then she proceeded to make lunch for her card playing group. They were all men. Very strange.

I do realize, though, that this is all a set up and there are tons of people around producing the show.

We did a psych eval on her earlier in the thread.

She's thrives on cooking for guys because they don't care, as long as they eat.

Plus, they won't be as critical about the food.

Guys like us are like that.....The adage about getting to a man's heart is true....straight down the esophagus.

She's safe with 'her boys' because she gets the adulation from the guys, without the baggage.

I think we can figure out what that means.

P.S. the salmon quiche dish is real, I added the rest of the description because I was laughing too hard.

Ina sure has a full life doesn't she? Her friend T.R. is a model. I saw his picture on the front of last Sunday's J.C. Penney's ad.

Richard, oh boy!! This new group on TNFN star is too much. I was not impressed with any of them. I love the voice of the lady from India(?)but the rest of them acted like they were in an acting competition instead of a cooking competition.

I was chuckling at cute little Giada being their mentor this season. Was that a punishment the network gave her, considering how much distaste she's shown of the competition in the past?

My brother said he saw Paula Deen at a Tampa grocery store a couple of weeks ago and she looked like she weighed 350 lbs. She was there to do a promo. Has anyone seen a current picture of her? Could it be true or was it what she was wearing??

I just heard that January Jones, the actress from Mad Men was involved in a hit and run accident.

Witnesses said she had been drinking.

    Get this,

She calls Bobbly FLay, who tells her to leave, JJ comes back about 1/2 hour later, w/different clothes and chewing gum....then talks to the cops.

    No charges were filed.

I was happy with the winner of Top Chef Masters last night, did anyone else catch it? I both liked the chef and his charity seems extremely worthy, too.
