It's like asking a man in the desert to stop the wind from moving individual grains of sand.
If they do see an oil slick approaching a land mass, what can they do?

The U.S. government is busy trying to figure out the WHY as opposed to the WHAT CAN WE DO TO STOP THIS?
As usual, the U.S. government is a stp behind and a day late.
We are sitting in rooms, miles away from the problem, allowing old, broken down men, who would never last ten minutes working on a oil platform, to blame, deflect, question and berate the people in charge of the fiasco.
Let's fix the problem and not waste any time with broken down senators and congressmen with no idea of what is happening.
