Merlin sounds wonderful, Slick! He sounds so much like my Steve with being a lap cat, purring, headbumps and making biscuits. It must be the orange in them! I'm now an orange convert.
For the pee accident, maybe you could pick up some Cat Attract Litter? It's available everywhere - Petsmart, Global Pet Foods, Pet Valu - in a red bag. Steve had a pee issue when we first brought him home but this litter attracted him like no other. It's amazing stuff!

Orangies are lap cats, no doubt about it. Mac is sitting on my lap watching me type this. Merlin has found his furrever home and he deserves it!
