Is there a reason why Sphynx's life span is usually only for 10 years? Just curious.

Losing 5 cats (including the two 2 day old babies) in less than 6 months has taken it's toll on me.

I looked up the life span of a Sphynx and it says they have the same span as any other cat. It just seems very strange that both MooShoo and Ari died of the same thing (aneurysms) around the same age. I'm, wondering if it has something to do with in-breeding.

My heart is broken again (still).

RIP Ari. Now you can join Moo at the Bridge and play all day long! I am so sorry for you, Donna. I can't imagine what it must feel like to lose that many precious babies in such a short time. <<hugs>>

Oh, Donna, I am so very sorry for you and Dorothy both over the loss of your beautiful, precious Ari. Thanks to both of you, he came to know what home and love and safety and comfort are. God bless you both for all you did for him.

just thinking of your pain.....there is no pain to compare with losing one that you loved ....my heart goes out to you at this time of great sadness.....

My vet called me. I asked him why Sphynxes lifespan isn't as long as a regular DSH. He said it's all in the genes, especially Orientals. Sometimes they carry things like clots, heart murmurs, etc.that can go undetected for years. I guess we'll never know.

I'm very sorry, Donna. I know how loved Ari was/is and how difficult it is to lose a furbaby. You know the kind of life he had before he came to you so try to comfort yourself w/that. RIP, Ari and peace to you, Donna.
