I like to use the plug in Feliway just to keep the calming level constant. Good luck with your boys....

Weird question... but are you sure you have the right cat?
Mixups do happen, esp. when 2 cats have identical markings. the same happens with dogs.

I would take a good close look at the cat to ensure it is 100% your cat...

Other then that, I have no idea, I'm a cat mommy in learning *pokes Cam*

give both cats a bath, in case there is a weird smell?

Honestly I was wondering if they gave you the wrong cat, just like King. I've seen mix-ups happen before

LOL - I had wondered the same thing (if it was the right cat).... but it's definitely our boy. He has a bald patch on his left hind leg from when they shaved it for a blood test a few weeks ago. Fair question though!

We did the "kitty wipes" on Blackie to to clean him and get rid of whatever smell was on him... but by then, the damage was already done between the two kitties.

I bought the Feliway spray and plug-in tonight (ouch$$$). I sprayed all over... and (knock on wood) the boys already seem to be WAY calmer tonight. They actually sat side-by-side and ate from their bowls a little while ago. A small victory! They're pretty much ignoring each other, but I'll take that any day. I'll keep the plug-in going and spray each day to keep the "happy juice" flowing.

Thanks for the advice - it's funny you all had mentioned Feliway because 2 more coworkers/friends swore by it at work today. So far, I'm a believer.

I may need to spray some on myself now. ;-)

    Purrs (and peace),
    Lisa

Yes, the Plug in Feliway is $$$. BUT, once you have the plug in, you can go to a catalogue, like Care a lot pets. Right now the refills are on sale!! I stocked up!

    I'm another satisfied Feliway user!
I've used it successfully for integration issues and also a urinating issue that was behavioral and not health related.
The spray is good for stopping inappropriate spraying or marking with urine and also for spraying on towels that go in the carrier during vet visits.
The plug-ins are great for integrations, keeping cats who are more high-strung calmer, etc.

It's always a good idea, when taking one pet of a multi-pet household, to take a towel and rub it on all the pets NOT going to the vet, put that in the carrier with the pet who IS going to the vet...use that towel to rub the pet down with real well before bringing them back into the home.
