Poofing sounds like a good idea! My Mac used to belong to people who basically neglected him. They refused to neuter him and he was locked in the garage when they went on a week's vacation once. They let the neighborhood feed him and he was seldom allowed in the house. A supervisor of mine (and absolute angel!) poofed him when she found him in her house eating her cat's food. She had him neutured and brought him in to work and gave him to me. That was 8 years ago and Mac is my best friend and very loved.
