My parents didn't think they could have children, so when they stopped trying I showed up They were in their mid thirties when the had me. I think I respect my parents more that they are older, because I don't feel like they ever tried to me my friends. They were my parents. Now that I am an adult my mom and dad are my best friends, but never when I was younger and I still needed parenting. I still rely on them for help and guidance, and I always will, but I think that our relationship is what it is today because of the experience they brought with them when they became parents. I don't want to have any kids until I'm in my thirties either. I'm 22 now and I know I'm not mature enough to have kids, nor am I financially stable or finished my education! I am glad that it worked out the way it did, because I think being older made my parents that much greater at it!
