Make sure your dog understands what you're asking it to do. Repeat over and over for a while the motions and stuff of what you want it to do, while saying the *key* word over and over WHILE saying GGGOOOOOOOOOD DOOOOOGGGGYYYYYYYYYYYYY!! and lots of praise, and small treats at intervals.
