More on pet hair vacuums...

I haven't had my Bissell Pet vacuume long enough to have an opinon on longevity yet. However so far I always disassemble and wash the parts after every use. I couldn't do that with my old one and I think that contributed to it's lack of suction power.

Although what killed the old one was the wooden roller with the brushes. It just plain wore out. You could actually see where it had been shaving wood off the roller for some time before it finally got loose enough to just not run.

I'll try to remember this thread in a couple years and give a better review on longevity then.

My mom and dad have a reconditioned Oreck. It feels heavy compared to my Eureka, but it does a much better job than my vacuum cleaner does. I should just start saving up for a good vacuum cleaner already. Maybe I'll do that when I get my income tax refund.

I've had my dyson for several years now and it still works great. Sometimes it doesn't pick up all of the cat litter in the carpet but the directions even say something about it not being made for that. It's still the best vacuum that I've ever owned.

I have had my Dyson for a couple years now and still love it!! The Animal attachment is just "OK" though and I don't use it very often. Every so often, the rollers get clogged and I have to turn the vacuum over and manually clean them, clipping strings, cat hair etc. There are several removable pieces that allow clearing of any obstructions and I like that. Like the ad says - it never loses suction and I am amazed at how well it cleans both carpet and floors. The push-button cup is super easy to empty also - no touching the dirt and no cloud of dust

We have a POS Vacuum. And my mom got the Animal Dyson before we moved out of there. And I miss it! lol I Borrowed it when she was out of town. And the crap it picked up..Amazed me! LOL She has had it at least 3-4 yrs. No issues with it.. Other then the Needing to cut strings/hair from the roller. I keep prying hubby to let us get a dyson.. No such luck yet. LOL

I love my Electrolux cannister, Candance, but it is heavy and because of my back is so bad, it's hard for me to change the attachments. I had to have my roller changed recently. But I only vacuum once. I think my rugs look like new afterwards. I also use it on my kitchen floor.

I love my Oreck but since it's not a cannister it's hard to get to the edge of the walls.

I have the Bissell Pet and am very happy with the product. I rarely use the attachments so I couldn't comment on whether they clog or not. I know that every time I use it it fills with Brown hair. I honestly don't know why Koko isn't bald. I haven't figured out how to stop the shedding yet, thankfully my Bissell does a great job.
