We decided to use Beezer as our measuring device. sent him out into the snow to see where I came up to on him and then measured from there.
We have 15 inches so far
the dogs are bunny hopping through it LOL

Just an update from a little south of you...it's still going, but nowhere near as strong. I have no idea the total, but we have so far exceeded twenty inches I can't even imagine by how much. We plowed off about 9-12 inches earlier in the day and at least a foot has fallen since. This is unbelievable. I'll see if I can post pictures tomorrow.
GO RAVENS!!
I must say, I'm a bit disappointed in this storm. They were calling for 18", we might have 6" right now. At least I got to finish some Christmas projects since I was off from work today![]()
I do have to admit the driving was awful when I left work. It was also quite funny to drive through separate sections and know which town/city/borough was responsible for plowing. One street would be clean, and the next would be scary.
Our storm has just started now, even though the forecasters were sure it would have started hours and hours ago ... we'll see how much we end up getting!
I've Been Frosted
Count yourself lucky. We only ended up with 1 - 1 1/2 inches
I'm sorry, but after having seen the great blizzard of '78with snow drifted to the roof of my house, and having to shovel snow into the bathtub to get out the sliding glass door; none of these 'blizzards' I've seen since look like much to me.
I've also noticed the more they hype it up, and the more people swamp the stores for supplies, the less snow we end up with.

Now to dig out!!!
We ended up with about 20" - give or take a couple. It's beautiful - looked awesome last night with the outside blue Christmas lights on the house shining on it. The pups hate it since they are too little to be able to walk around in it, so my son had to shovel a potty area for them. A plow finally made it down our road, but he was struggling, and it's going to take a lot more passes to make it somewhat drivable. Oops!!! - there is now a plow stuck in front of the house!! I wonder how long before a car ends up in the ditch in front of the house. Happens all the time - people driving too fast or when they shouldn't be at all.
Schools already announced last night that they will be closed Monday. My son and grandson are trying to get at least one of the vehicles to where it could get out in case it would be needed in an emergency. The other 2 aren't going anywhere for a while. I'm just staying put anyway until it's safer to venture out.
Here's a few pics I took this a.m.

Oh yeah - we had it bad that year too - one like that I hope to never see again.
Had the same problem - snow drifted to within an inch of the top of the sliding glass door - had to exit from the front and tunnel to the back of the house to dig the snow from the deck to get the glass door open. National Guard out checking on people because no one could get out. After 4 days I was finally able to get out to go to work. Roads were plowed open - one lane only - and piled so high on either side of the road that it was like driving thru a snow tunnel! If you met a car coming in the opposite direction, one of you had to back up till you could find an area wide enough for both to get by. Now that was a snow storm to remember!!!

We are dug out. It took three hours this morning with a heavy duty snowthrower and shoveling, but we're cleared. I would estimate we were on the high end of the snow total, 24-28 inches. Our road has not been touched, but people are able to navigate it, and the sun is shining brightly to help things. It really is beautiful.
GO RAVENS!!
