Hi Kass: How nice to see you again and catch up on your life. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and your ring is absolutely beautiful. You must start your own thread in General and let us know about the wedding, the dress and everything.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Love the pix; your cats are all gorgeous! And love the wedding band, too. The sentimentality is very nice; I'm sure your grandmother would agree.Best wishes to you on your impending marriage and praying that Rob is healing nicely and that the court case goes smoothly.

OMG Kass! Great to "see" you post an update! Gosh, that accident sounds terrible, but I'm glad you have folks helping Rob with the physical therapy. How scary! I certainly hope everything goes well with the case and that 2010 brings you both nothing but goodness and happiness! As always, the pictures are great! Your fur-babies are so so sweet I could just kiss them! I can't wait to hear more about your upcoming wedding and of course see the pics! I love the ring! It's so pretty! *grins*
Brightest blessings,
Karen
A lovely post. I did not realise that something bad had happened to you, I am so sorry to hear this. I hope all turns out well for you both.
The wedding ring is gorgeous, I love antique old fashioned stuff like that, beautiful.
Wonderful pictures of the moggies too! and I never forget Nikita either, she often pops into my mind when I'm PT.
I hope you have a fabulous 2010!
Kate, Kevin and the moggies x
How could I ever 'leave' PT when I get comments like these? Thanks everyone!I never left, just life is too busy. Plus, I just started a new job and will be doing quite a bit of business travel so probably won't have much time for the forums in the future as well. But, I'll pop by when I can.
He has two permanent herniated discs in his neck from the accident. If he ever is in another collision, the doc warned that there could be permanent paralysis because of his current injuries. At the time of the accident he had little feeling on his left side of his body from the neck down to his waist. It's been 9 months since the accident and he's lost probably about 50% of his muscles on the left side - therapy is slowly bringing it back but we're not sure if he'll ever regain the same muscle pre-accident. He was just approved another 14 sessions for physio along with a TMJ therapist who is also working the neck/jaw muscles.
We're keeping our fingers crossed that the insurance will also approve a personal fitness trainer. When you lose that much muscle mass on your body you need a specialist to guide you through the right training to try to regain it back properly.
It's been a long haul and we're hoping the case is settled out of court. An 18 wheeler hit him from behind and then dragged him into an intersection - it's a pretty open and shut case. The court case won't start until the majority of therapy is complete and they have exhausted all medical options. At that point, you then sue for any loss and suffering.
Me, not take pictures? Ha!Originally Posted by Slick

We're planning a simple sunset ceremony in St Lucia - actually situated on the side of a mountain and have our own small plantation villa with pool. I'll start a thread when I return and will post pics.
My grandmother passed away when I was in my teens, so I wanted a ring similar to her ring. I'm happy with it.
Too bad you didn't live closer. He can't get enough attention and he would not leave your side. He loves tummy rubs as well.
Thanks for remembering my Emerald Girl! 2009 was such a hard year for us that I really hope 2010 turns it around for us.
Don't be afraid that your life will end. Be afraid that it will never begin.
So nice to see you back here again, and to see the pictures of Steve and Gigi and that gorgeous wedding ring!
Your beautiful, sweet Nikita often comes to my mind too when I'm here at PT.
A happy holiday season to you and yours, and may 2010 go well for you and for us all.
Hugs and purrs,
Pat and cats

There are precious Steve and Gigi and I agree with everyone, what a beautiful ring!
I'd like to nominate this picture for the 2011 PT Cat Calendar. I love photos of kitties looking upward. Makes me want to give kitty a gentle scritchy under the chin! Steve, you are so handsome... and your sister Gigi is beautiful!
