Take a book to read. I was on the toilet for about an hour. Just when I thought I could get up, oops....back down again.

In all honesty, at the end of the day I felt great. There's nothing like a good clean out..........

Geeze - I lost count with the last one. All I remember is, that after the last dose in the morning before I left for the procedure, I felt lightheaded. I started out of the bathroom, and promptly passed out cold on my bedroom floor.

When I told my doctor about it, he said that something like that isn't unheard of, especially in a person that doesn't carry much weight, and that's me. It had never happened when I had them before and it scared the crap out of me. Figure of speech only, since there obviously was none left!

I'm long overdue so I've got to schedule after the holidays. I'm supposed to have one at least every 2 years since cancer runs in the family, and both my father and brother had colon cancer. I just wish there was an easier way to do this..........YUK!

QOP - good luck. Get it out of the way and that will be one less thing to worry about.

Take heart Pomtzu, they're working on an easier way, some kind of pill you swallow and they don't need to get invasive and everything shows up on a scan.
I've never had it done but watched my mom , first time she did it we had to call the ambulance cause she passed out and we couldn't wake her. The second time they hospitalized her for it, the only room she really needed was the one at the foot of her bed, I don't intend on ever going that route.

But you still have to be cleaned out, and that's the worst part of it. You're in la-la land for the actual procedure.

Well, I just had the second dose of pico salax. So far it really hasn't been a problem. I go, but it is similar to before I started taking fiber to bulk up. So really this cleanout hasn't been any worse than the IBS they are trying to diagnose. Unless it gets "better" after this second dose, we shall see!!

Oh, Gayle! My heart goes out to you! My dad just went through this a couple of weeks ago and it was not fun. His gastroenterologist (new to the practice) suggested afterward that he eat some yogurt to get some "good" bacteria back into his GI tract, and also to drink a lot of fluids for a couple of days afterward to reverse any dehydration from the prep and the procedure. I hope it all goes very well.

Thanks for the laugh, although that is still dangerous (can't relax that much). I can surely see that happening, especially with how tender it has gotten down there. I was sure I'd bought the softest toilet paper there is. NOT SO!!!! Kitten softness is not working today. Nice try though Purex!!

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that. The next day I could barely walk. Mind you I buy the cheap stuff. My Mom keeps saying it's like sandpaper.
