MRI's are noisy but CT Scans you don't hear anything. The only thing you might want to ask them is to make sure you aren't allergic to isotope dyes before they inject it in you. I had a very bad reaction to the dyes so they never use them now. Ct Scan is more boring than anything.
I hope everything turns out ok.

I have had several over the last 5 years. The first found oropharyngeal cancer and I have had several since to make sure it isn't coming back. I am schedule for another in two weeks. I had a problem on one occasion when the Tech that put the contrast needle in didn't verify proper flow. When they infected the contrast rather than going in my vein it went into the surrounding tissue and made a huge burning bulge where the contast was located. It look over a week for my system to absorb the contrast and the bulge to go down. I would advice that you make sure they are able to inject saline to test flow. I am a little anal about it now and I make the tech test the needle for flow with saline. I am lucky that the one coming up in two weeks is without contrast.
Sending good wishes.
ok so I am going to hope to avoid that one...OMG! That had to be so scary.....
I had a CT scan of my chest a few years back. The only thing I discovered was that I have very sensitive veins evidently. They have to slam the dye in and take the picture almost immediately. Well they didn't warn me about the slam part. I almost dropped an F bomb, but turned it into FUDGE!!!! in the middle...at the top of my lungs. They got me out to the waiting area to go back to the ER and my husband was waiting. I waited until the nurse had left the area and completely fell apart...
