I have a hearing impairment in my right ear and went to a specialist. He ordered as CT scan and it was loud but no big deal. Turns out I have an "unidentifiable inflammation".

I've had an MRI of my head due to dizzy spells several years ago. Not sure how the procedures differ, but the MRI wasn't bad. The worst part was not moving. You always get an itchy nose when you're told not to move.

I hope your CT scan comes back good and your headache goes away soon.

MRI's are noisy but CT Scans you don't hear anything. The only thing you might want to ask them is to make sure you aren't allergic to isotope dyes before they inject it in you. I had a very bad reaction to the dyes so they never use them now. Ct Scan is more boring than anything.

I agree except for the dye allergy, which I didn't have. Hope your results

I have had several over the last 5 years. The first found oropharyngeal cancer and I have had several since to make sure it isn't coming back. I am schedule for another in two weeks. I had a problem on one occasion when the Tech that put the contrast needle in didn't verify proper flow. When they infected the contrast rather than going in my vein it went into the surrounding tissue and made a huge burning bulge where the contast was located. It look over a week for my system to absorb the contrast and the bulge to go down. I would advice that you make sure they are able to inject saline to test flow. I am a little anal about it now and I make the tech test the needle for flow with saline. I am lucky that the one coming up in two weeks is without contrast.

Let's just say the results came back the way they thought they would so it was no big surprise----the big surprise is what the dyes did to me and no one had warned us.
