Sending a huge hug to you and a little pet for Max, only because he doesn't like huge hugs.
It is so hard to watch them go downhill, but we are thinking of you and are here for you. Sending Max all my best.![]()

Oh my, this is disheartening, I know all too well. His behavior reminds me of when my Puddy developed dementia. She'd only sleep on the bathroom countertop because she thought it was her litter box and she peed and pooped in the sink. Then it was the bathtub and she'd only drink out of the bathtub faucet instead of her fountain. There are drugs that you can administer for it but, unfortunately, Puddy didn't live long enough for me to be able to say that I saw a big change. CRF causes all sorts of problems and she had it for years. I was able to administer subQ's to her but it still didn't make any difference. Perhaps talk to your vet about meds for Max for dementia and maybe you'll get some comforting news. I'm sorry that this is happening, Slick. I know how heartbreaking it is. Enjoy every moment w/Max and just overlook his accidents. He wouldn't hurt his mom for the world and he would never do this inappropriate behavior if he could help it. (((HUGS))) to you and gentle pets to Max. Keep the faythe.![]()

Slick, I'm so sorry to hear this, I know how it breaks your heart to see Max like this. It's such a shame that the Sub-Q fluids didn't work out, I wish he would start drinking more. The way he sits and stare at nothing does indicate that he is going a bit senile. Fister will that sometimes too. Is he meowing more, also?
I hope the vet can come up with some treatment that will help him!
Fister and I are sending lots of purrs and positive thoughts to Max and big hugs to you!![]()

I'm so sorry to hear about Max.I know there is little comfort in knowing that most of us have been down this road before, but we can share some of your feelings.
Maybe a trip to the vet will help. I know it did when a couple of our elders were not themselves. Treasure every moment with Max; I'm sure he's enjoying sleeping under the tree.
Hugs, purrs and gentle pets to you and Max...............![]()
Loving meowmie to Archy & Binky (RIP my sweet boy 10/13/10)
=^..^=
I
I am so sad for you. Goodness, we all love our babies so much here that when one is sick, it does effect us all and reminds us all what a short time we have with our own babies.
Just love him while you can, as hard as you can and as much as you can.

Such a sad update, but one we'll all go through some day. Loving a pet means one day you will lose them.
I wish you as many days with Max as God allows.

I, like the others, am sad to read your update. It is so hard to see a beloved friend fail. You do the best you can to keep Max loved and comfortable. Will keep you in prayers and will light a candle....Take Care...Sandra
Nine is Fine!!
Prayers and hugs for you and Max.
There are some meds for dementia - I don't recall which one Mary was going to use- but yes, a checkup sounds like the plan.
Is the vet close enough that you could take Max in for weekly sub-q's, if that is a plan?
Max did so amazingly well after his last checkup...prayers that he can get a little more quality time with his Meowmie.![]()
