Such a pretty grey girl with those bits of muted Tortie colour. Prayers that this is easily treatable. Please give her hugs and kissies from me!

I'm just now seeing this, Mary.

So sorry that you have more kitty troubles. Hoping that Yodie will soon be back as good as new.

Love and hugs from the Delaware Crew.

Yodie is beautiful. I hope she is ok! Good thoughts on the way.

Dr. Lee said that the cultures came back showing that Yodie has MRSA. He feels that it's because that ear has been compromised ever since she had the polyp removed. So she's to stay on the Clavamox and he wants her on Clindamycin as well for another secondary infection and I'm to put a drop of Clindamycin in her ear along w/the med that has Baytril in it.

I asked him what the chances are of the rest of the Fur Posse getting it and he said that as long as they don't have any sores or scratches not to worry. As long as I always wash my hands thoroughly each time I shouldn't worry about contracting it myself either.

He will do another culture in a month to see if it's dried up but he said MRSA is a bugger to get rid of. I'm trying not to panic.
    Blessings,
    Mary

Well at least you know what it is. But I don't. What is MRSA?

I hope you can get it under control and the rest of the posse and you do not get it. I will continue to keep you and your babies in my thoughts.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

It's scary stuff. It's the bacteria that spreads like wildfire and if humans get it, they could end up losing limbs.

Prayers for Yodie and your entire household. Just looked up MRSA, it's nasty to be sure. Hoping it can be taken care of with the meds and that no one else, including you catches it.

Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) is a bacterial infection that is highly resistant to some antibiotics.

Here is some info about it.

Please wear gloves when you medicate Yodie. You don't want to get MRSA into some tiny cut you don't know about.

I'm glad you got a definitive diagnosis. So often the vets (and people doctors, too) throw their hands up and say "I dunno."

Yodie, please cooperate with Meowmie. I bet there are treats in it for you. Clindamycin is vile, but works really well!
