Haldeman has pleaded not guilty. Of the three meetings held with David, his lawyer, and Haldeman, the last two were taped.

Innocence may be difficult to prove.

The woman allegedly at the centre of the extortion scandal, Stephanie Birkett, lived with Haldeman at one time, and worked on both 48 Hours and Late Night. She found news stuff a bit 'heavy' and moved over to Late Night.

Apparently this happened before Dave was married/dating.
