You definately should check to see if it is blind or deaf. Those kind of babies always need special attention.
It may also, just be an odd bird. Many years ago, we got to help a couple of our kitties give birth around the same time. The moms were tame, and the babies were handled from day one. Both of the kittens were *extremely* wild around us. When we got them both neutered, one calmed down, the other got wilder. All we could figure is that he may have been some kind of throw-back; his mom was rescued as a kitten from our feral community. We ended up releasing the wild one into our local feral community because being a house cat was too much for him.
I hope you baby is just temporarily scared.
