Pinot called a little earlier to say they have arrived and everyone has been working non stop. Tigris is very happy because the food supply is in good shape.
Groucho called in shortly after that. He spent just about all afternoon with Vinnie and Ruby getting their story. They both are doing as well as can be expected and were thrilled when Groucho brought them some crab legs and fried chicken. Groucho is meeting with the prosecutor tomorrow morning primarily for discovery. At least for now Groucho says they can't tell us exactly where they are but he did say Vinnie and Ruby have been moved to a safer and more secure location.
Our legal eagle team will be burning the midnight oil going over evidence so they can start planning their strategy. One of his kitty lawyer friends is expected any time now to sit in on the meeting with the prosecutor. No decisions have been made because much more information is needed.
A question from Filou; does anyone know of any witnesses? He has been examining the pictures then mumbled something about Photoshop.

Crab legs and fried chicken? I see the Animal Angel Army has been there and done their job. You can always count on those guys!![]()
Proud to be a crazy cat lady!
Thanks to all their PT friends Ruby and Vinnie had to be released. The prosecutor did not find any evidence (and if he had found some, there was more evidence that it was all photoshopped) - so it was easy for Groucho to take all the legal documents Gatsby had prepared and go into court. After his impressive speech there was no doubt among the jury that they were innocent.
Pinot was right there waiting in front of the jail with these crablegs. Officer Edwina was the one who opened the door for them. After their ordeal, Ruby and Vinnie were stressed out and tired:
Pinot had prepared a wonderful bed in the back of the catmobile and with a little food and a little sleep the falsely accused innocent kitties were soon ok.
They decided immediately that Ontario would be just on their route back from California to New Zealand. They say after all this dreadful story had the excellent outcome of meeting new friends and they would be happy to bring some toys to the party
So: Ruby's and Vinnie's meowmie and human brothers: don't be worried. The kitties will soon be back after the labor day party in Ontario![]()
I had a chance to talk to Groucho late this afternoon. His meeting with the prosecutor got a bit tense at times but Groucho was determined this case would never get to court. Thanks to Filou, the phony photo expert, Groucho was able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the pictures allegedly proving their guilt were photoshopped. As for the picture of Vinnie trying to pull a stuffed toy through the little door, Groucho had the perfect explanation; Vinnie saw it in his house, knew it wasn't his or Ruby's and was actually trying to push it outside so the rightful owner could reclaim it. Groucho said thanks to Filou's catching inconsistencies on the pictures, Gatsby's right on point legal research, and the others tirelessly going over the evidence over and over again nothing presented by the prosecutor held up. There was a brief meeting with the judge about getting the case on the docket. Both sides argued their position and the prosecutor lost his cool a few times. After listening to both attorneys and looking at some of the pictures to be introduced as evidence, the judge threw the case out of court, ordered Vinnie and Ruby's immediate release, and filed a complaint with the ethics committee against the prosecutor for filing a frivolous lawsuit.
As soon as they got the news, Pinot and Edwina jumped in the Catmobile to be there when Vinnie and Ruby were released. As prearranged by Edwina, their first stop was at a vet so Vinnie and Ruby could be checked to be sure they're okay. Fortunately both are in great shape after their ordeal.
To our extraordinary kitty legal team, concatulations on a job well done!!!!!

What fantastic news, and what expert legal work. Well done, team!
My kitties are all excited to be sharing in the victory celebrations in Niagara Falls.
I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.
