I just recently found out it was my aunt's given name (Polish) but she was always called "Pauline" to Anglicize it. Too bad, I really like it.

My mothers name was Pauline but they called her Paula. I was named William
Paul after my Father and my mother. Since I didn't have his middle name I was not a Junior. Instead of being called Junior all my life I was "Little Billy" and of course my father was "Big Billy".
