What was last night's windows update??

Last night my computer was working fine and I told it to download the available important update and then shut down.
When I woke up this morning my computer was basically a lump of metal that wasn't even recognizing my keyboard. Thankfully after hard rebooting it it automatically ran the startup repair and was able to restore it back a couple days but I want to know what was in that update that messed up my computer Grrr!

Update for Internet Explorer 8 Compatibility View List for Windows Vista for x64-based Systems (KB973874)

I have had KB and mouse probs.

I'd shut off the machine and when I would start it up it would either say it could not see the KB or mouse.

I finally had to change KB and it seems fine now?

Does this really work with computers?

I didn't accept the changes last night.

Mine didn't have any problems with last nights update. Hubby hasn't turned his on yet... hopefully he didn't have any problems either.

    I guess I got lucky!

Yup so glad I am not the only one having Windows Vista Update Problems.. Every time I let my computer do those updates my computer crashes & or starts doing funky things.. I have to do all of the cleaning out & restoring to get back to normal.. I am at the point I avoid if all possible any Windows Vista Updates.. Grrrrrr
