Black's Beach, huh? I did not know. I just drove up the road until I came to a place where there was good parking and a sign that identified the place as a state park and also there were some good cliffs rising over the beach, appearing to go on for a few miles, so I figured that if I walked below them the crowds would be less than elsewhere.

I did get a very good picture. Two guys were walking straight at me and I thought to myself "well, this is a public beach and I can photograph anything I see so lets so what will happen if photograph these two guys." So, I dropped suddenly to one knee and aimed a telephoto lens at them. Well, these two, unashamed, proud-to-be-naked-in-public guys were suddenly clasping hands over strategic places, turning this way and that, dodging for cover. They looked like Marines and were bigger than me (yes, there too, although, being by the sea, they were suffering from "shrinkage," as coined by George of Seinfeld fame), besides outnumbering me, so I was a little worried about what they might do, but then a big part of their job is defending my first amendment rights, so I figured they would understand.

The resultant photo is hilarious. (Besides photographing cats wherever I go, I keep a photo journal, which is where that photo has gone).

Yes, it is too bad I missed those terriers. Dogs being so plentiful and abundant everywhere one goes, I don't have a similar project going where I seek them out as I do cats. However, I do try to photograph "car dogs" whenever I can, so you should have come driving by me, terror terriers prominently displayed in the window and I would surely have photographed them.

As for Taco Bell, there is one on Rosecrans not far from Sandy Frost's house. I ate there twice and it was quite good, except that they ran out of forks but the guy was nice enough to go next door to KFC and get one for me.

Most of my time in San Diego was spent working and I did not get to see all that I had hoped, but I did visit my niece who I had not seen since we buried her father (my brother) in June of 1987 and I got to meet her husband and young daughter, so that was good.
