    Hey ~
KAT-Keepers are **Invited** ... and always have been.
We've even had a couple Kittys actually show up!

    And since there's no "mention" of maximum numbers of Purr-Children allowed;
the KAT Purrents can bring ALL da Kats AND foster a Dawg fur the day!

We will bring all 3 Labor Day and plead ignorance, being from out of town.

After that, well .... we may just never be back at the park.

There are some nice parks in Michigan ... just so far away for so many.
What about Southern or Eastern Ohio?
Anything closer to Phred or Anna?

Findlay is no nicely centralized ... this stinks!!!
A few years ago (2005) the Three Amigos and I toured many of the newly
opened Dawg Parks in Central and North Eastern Ohio - probably about a dozen.
Most were "nice" ... but many had restrictions we didn't know about till we arrived ...
    * Lotta TWO Dawgs max (I told the 3 Kids to act like they didn't know each other)
    * Several were for "Residents Only"
    * Some prohibited snacks & treats (2 AND 4-Leggers included)
    * few had tables, or even benches, inside the enclosure
    * parking was either plentiful or almost non-existing
    * some were distant from the parking
    * Hoomin Comfort facilities were either NONE , primitive, or distant.
    * SHADE - either natural and man-made - was tough to come by
    * most had NO provisions for a close-by picnic area or shelter

Long & Short of it --- Not a ONE of the Parks we visited and "tested" could
hold a candle to the Hancock / Findlay facility.

I'd suggest we try what we've done several times in the past when we heard
of one of the Park District's "Hair-Brained" and wierd ideas ...
We've contacted the "Administration" and suggested a more reasonable
    solution;
then rounded up some supporters to argue for the same thing.

Hey CARRIE --- where are ya? ... We NEED You!

Big Walnut is nice. But there is nowhere to really have the cook out place. There's a dog max. But it is really nice. REALLY big and there is a pond to go swimming in.

I'll argue. It's not fair because A LOT of people have two dogs. They needed to at least make it a two dog minimum. One dog is just stupid.

Oh and I think we should be fine on the Labor Day party because the rule is so NEW that people can just plead ignorance, like said above. And they will just have to live with it.

    !
I KNOW that but maybe THEY don't know that. Its just been such a dog themed event for so long I think a lot of the KatKeepers just assume it save for the few that do come and we do enjoy the company of.. Course the other thing is maybe there just aren't that many people within driving distance. But I'm all for feigning ignorance!

I agree with this appracoh...afer Labor Day. If we call and talk to them ahead of time, we admit we know the new rule. This is so close to it taking effect, we play dumb. What is that whole thing about begging for forgiveness rather then asking perfmission and being denied?
Then after the picnic we can begin lobbying for next year. Just my opinion.

    She's RIGHT!

Anyway, "THEY" said it doesn't take effect till "AFTER the project" is completed ...
I read that as next year.

Hope someone brings bail money for me.

We're not going to be able to foster-care this time. We are having company all weekend.

For any of the non-dog folk, we have been to the last 3 picnics, and had a most wonderful time. Food was yummy, dogs are delightful, and most important the company cannot be beat!!

If you've never been before, give it a go. I remember the first time, figuring out who the posters were by checking out the dogs

So, why not load the Company and haul 'em to the Dawg Park *WITH* you?

I think we really should plead ignorance. After all, Margie (Phred's favorite secretary or administrative person or whatever) knew enough to call him about the bridge closing so she knows we are having this gathering and that some of us bring more than one dog SO if why didn't she tell him about the new rules? That just doesn't make sense to me. (I think I smell some chicken from here - I think they know it isn't a good idea to pi&& Pet Talk people off). Also I don't think there is any way they can deny the money we have donated to the dog park for trees, benches, the new pavilion, etc.

We don't go to the dog park any more - just too much going on to get the whole tribe there. But I remember well the days when we went almost every day. I can't tell you how many times I was out there by myself with my dogs. It just seems silly to make such a rule when there are people who can go out at odd hours when no one else can - or who will still go if it is hot or sprinkling or snowy or cold. Again this is the case of a few ruining it for everyone. And again how many people these days have just one dog.

Back to one dog per person - that means Christy will be okay to bring her 3 because Dominic and Jasmine will be there.

Gretchen and Doug - I really missed not getting to see everyone at the last get together. It has been so nice that you continue to join us even though you don't have dogs. I hope this doesn't mean you won't be coming any more.

We all need to put on our thinking caps and figure out how we are going to get around these new changes. I don't go out enough to know who all is going and how many have multiple dogs. I think we should stay quiet and low until at our meeting and then find out what others are thinking and doing about this. Remember Justina with Lucy(the pug), Brutus and her other two. And her friend who works for the newspaper who has 2 Schnauzers. There has to be others that are going to be really put out with this change.

dogs are compelled to snarl occasionally."

We will be there next Memorial Day weekend - can't get rid of us just yet And next May we will again bring Phesina (Pat) along with us, if she's available. We have really enjoyed the picnics, and look forward to more in the future.

Our son is flying in on Thursday, and on Saturday he and Doug are going down to Columbus for the Navy - OSU football game. So Sunday will be a day of rest and reflection - and no driving.
