    massacre at Wrigley

    I'm SO happy that I didn't see the game? yesterday between the Pirates and the Cubs. It was a 17-2 massacre brought to you by the very young Pirates. You know they're young when their oldest player is only 33 years old! I love the way the Pirate front office traded away the experienced players that could have helped them. I guess Pittsburgh will have only two championships this year.

    <<<<<< me after yesterday's closing inning of the Phillies vs. Atlanta. I love Brad Lidge but I think it is time for a new closer.

    But David, these are the Cubs we are talking about here. One big win, but look at the big picture -this is the team that hasn't won a World Series since 1908. The Cubs are six games behind St. Louis in the NL Central right now. Lou is not happy.

    Home of the stupid fan who dumped a beer on the visiting team's outfielder (can you say unsportsmanlike conduct?). Nice move ya big doofus. We just got over Bartman and now this.
    Praying for peace in the Middle East, Ukraine, and around the world.

    I've been Boo'd ... right off the stage!

    Aaahh, I have been defrosted! Thank you, Bonny and Asiel!
    Brrrr, I've been Frosted! Thank you, Asiel and Pomtzu!

    I just checked the score of the NY/Boston game, I would have loved to have seen it.

    I love high scoring games.

    That's easy 'cause it happened yesterday. From the Phillies - Eric Bruntlett.

    Did you also know that his was only the 15th in MLB history? And only the 2nd to end a game. The first one to end a game was back in 1927; that player was Johnny Neun of the Detroit Tigers.

    I just read that Ernie Harwell has cancer of the bile duct.

    Best wishes to him and his family.

    He has a wonderful attitude about everything. And he is much loved by everyone who was ever within the sound of his voice.

    Ernie greeted each new baseball season with a verse from Song of Solomon -

    For, lo, the winter is past,
    The rain is over and gone;
    The flowers appear on the earth;
    The time of the singing of birds is come,
    And the voice of the turtle is heard in our land.
