I guess we would have been 'bounced' from many a places. J didn't wear any shoes until he was walking- 11 months. Seems like a strange thing for the manager to do. Prolly more to the story than we are hearing about.

I could see it being an issue if the child was standing on the counter, but just being held in his mother's arms or in a sling or carseat/carrier...seems a bit much. I don't plan to put Clara in shoes until she's walking. Socks, maybe! But, I also won't be standing her on tables or counters, either, as I find it a bit unsanitary.
The idea that some lives matter less is the root of all that is wrong with the world. - Dr. Paul Farmer
My kids were born in April and July, and they very rarely even had socks on until it got cold outside like in November.....Doctors want most babies to go barefoot!! Also, when you have those playlands, you are goinna have older kids wandering around without shoes on....back and forth from the table to the toys....

Sometimes it depends on the child too. Some babies absolutely hate having anything on their feet. I did put socks on Ty when out in public (especially in the winter, brr!) but we didn't really do shoes until he was walking.
